Welcome to TFAS!
New Independent Member Guide
Welcome to TFAS! You are officially a member of a community that has been helping artists for more than 100 years. We are a group that welcomes all the arts, and is made up of arts-related organizations, as well as individual artists and creatives. We all gather together to help each other as the world fluctuates around us. While this has meant different things over the years, we have always put the professional growth of the artist first, while promoting the Toledo regional arts through our prestigious collection of works carefully chosen and displayed in the community.
As we faced our 100th year, we reassessed our relevance in the community and began evolving to meet the needs of our future. We can only do this with the addition of involved members who are committed to working together, and being open to the changes that must take place.
Get involved with our community.

We value your input! Here’s where you begin.
Get involved with our community.
a. Attend board member meetings, which include two representatives from each organization and individual members.
i. Every organization representative and individual member is invited to our board meetings. They usually extend from September through June each year on first Saturday of the month and begin at 10:10am. This tradition has been in place since 1917, when our meeting location was at the Toledo Museum of Art, which is still our home base for the Saturday meetings. Link here for the current calendar of dates and locations.
ii. We also have more casual evening meetings before our special programs or workshops, which are hosted by our member organizations at their locations. Details are available months in advance.
